David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
