Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
